Recreation and Quality of LIfe
Bolstering our active and passive recreational assets is a top priority. Elsie, Matthew, Jason and the rest of the council secured necessary funding from the state to rehabilitate our track and field in 2022 -- an essential component to providing safe public spaces that promote community wellness and active recreation.
We are committed to locating spaces for small pocket parks and other gathering spaces throughout the community, as well as improving our existing municipal parks. In 2023, Elsie, Matthew, and Jason supported a municipal budget that includes funding for anticipated pocket park upgrades, including in the Felton Ave. Tot Lot and Mollimock-Graff Park on Karsey Street. To date, improvements have included new lighting, electrical, fencing, and landscaping. In 2023 we anticipate new play equipment, signage, and other walkway improvements.
